Graduates 2012+1

Graduates 2012

Well-deserved congratulations to our 2012 graduates!

The term ‘congratulations’ is used a lot these days. The sentiment, however, is very fitting for this occasion. On Friday 14 December with over 200 people in attendance, we held our largest ever graduation ceremony, which included graduates from our Travel and Tourism, Hospitality and Business schools. Thank you to the proud parents, family members and friends of our graduates who showed up to acknowledge the hard work and dedication shown by our students in 2012.

After a fantastic slide show of photographs of the year, our Academic Director, Terry Swanson, opened the night with a speech on how well our students have done this year. Whether going on to higher study or entering the workforce, our students will leave with the required skills and knowledge and the belief that there are great things to come.

While handing out certificates, a friendly competition began between the tutors as to who had the best class. There was one shared message though: the staff are proud of the achievements and effort put in by all of our finishing students. Whether shown by applause or by the placing of lei/ula and ula-lole on graduates and tutors, the sense of accomplishment and pride was evident in all who attended.

Our guest speaker, Henare O’Brien, ensured we ended the night on a high. With some humour and participation thrown in, he instilled the message that this is only the beginning for our graduates. With a bit of determination, you can overcome your obstacles and achieve any goals you set for yourself. This is a message we hope that our students remember. We hope that as they take the next step in their lives and their careers, they can look back and be proud of what they have achieved with us at Crown Institute of Studies.

To all of our graduates for 2012, congratulations, we are proud of you and we wish you all the best for your future endeavours.
