I have been continually impressed with the professionalism of the teaching staff and management, and especially their enthusiasm for connecting with key travel and tourism industry contacts. It is these connections that give Crown access to first hand travel and tourism practices, people and opportunities that are of real benefit to Crown students.”

Matt Stenton

Programme Director, Go with Tourism

COVID-19 has undoubtedly had a severe impact on New Zealand’s tourism industry; however, it is important to recognise that this was a once-in-a-lifetime event. Tourism will recover because New Zealand will forever be a dream destination for many overseas travellers. A crucial objective for Go with Tourism while we rebuild our industry is changing the negative perceptions and outdated stereotypes that the general public has regarding tourism. Working with schools and high school students plays a significant role in our plans, so we are very excited about the Crown Professional Development course. It is innovative thinking like this from our friends in the industry which will help Go with Tourism achieve our goal of building New Zealand’s tourism workforce.

Ann Hodge

HOD Careers, Mt Roskill Grammar School

“The leadership of Crown Institute of Studies has been very generous to us at Mt Roskill Grammar School. We have been the proud, and very grateful, recipients of two Tourism scholarships per year for a number of years. Before ‘fees free’ the scholarships covered the tuition fees. Since ‘fees free’, following consultation with Amy Tregidga, Marketing and Development Manager, the scholarships have been able to be used for the optional overseas trip that forms part of the first year Tourism course.

The scholarships have meant much to our students. With the representative from Crown Institute of Studies coming to our prize-giving to present the scholarships each year, it meant a public acknowledgement of those students. For the first few years it also meant virtually no student loan and latterly it has meant that the recipients have been able to have an overseas experience they may otherwise not have been able to access. We, and our students, are very grateful to Crown Institute of Studies for their generosity and look forward to many more years of working together for the good of our students and the ultimate good of the Tourism industry.

Thank you very much Crown Institute of Studies.”

Craig Dyason

“We have worked with the team from Crown in school for the past two years. Students have enjoyed the interactive nature of the teaching delivery enjoying their project day making coffees and learning barista skills. We have found the course to be exceptional value for money and the staff has always been accommodating to meet our needs.”
