Barista Basics

One Session

Designed for students who have never made espresso before, this fast-paced and practical course will teach you the basic skills and knowledge to make basic espressso coffees and change settings for the perfect coffee. Small classes mean that you can practice and gain experience.

Advanced Barista

Six Session

HOURS EACH (TOTAL 18 HRS)

This 18 hour course spread over two weeks will give you detailed knowledge of coffee extractions, brew ratios, coffee from around the world, standard espresso coffees, milk texturing, latte art as well as special and iced coffees. Espresso machine cleaning and programming is also covered in the in depth course which is designed to give you lots of practice to develop your skills.

Crown Institute of Studies Introduction to Hospitality Certificate

Managers License (License Controller Qualification, LCQ)

This course gives you the certificate that allows you to apply for your manager’s license, so that you can work as a manager where alcohol is sold. This will enable you to take on more responsibilities and get better pay. You or your employer are responsible for applying for your Managers License through the local council (current cost $316.25) once you have received your Service IQ LCQ Certificate.

LCQ is a theory-based course that consists of two units:

Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and its implications for licensed premises, and

Unit 16705

Demonstrate knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises
