For students interested in Business and Information Technology

Crown Institute offers Gateway programmes for secondary school students interested in Travel and Tourism, Small Business and Hospitality. These courses are a great way for you to gain credits toward NCEA and to experience what it’s like to work for a successful company in these industries. It also looks great on your C.V. and may open up employment opportunities for you in the future.

“We have worked with the team from Crown in school for the past two years. Students have enjoyed the interactive nature of the teaching delivery enjoying their project day making coffees and learning barista skills. We have found the course to be exceptional value for money and the staff has always been accommodating to meet our needs.”

Short courses

Our hospitality short courses are entirely practical – we give you a quick explanation of how to do something then you try it out yourself. These classes are a great way to learn a new skill to help you find a job, or just for fun! Classes are fast, fun and practical, and are designed to help you learn quickly – we keep small class sizes (maximum 6 students) to make sure that you get a lot of time to practice and ask questions. Open to anyone, there are no written tests or unit standards associated with these courses.
