PROGRAMMES

Crown Institute offers Gateway programmes for secondary school students interested in Travel and Tourism, Small Business and Hospitality. These courses are a great way for you to gain credits toward NCEA and to experience what it’s like to work for a successful company in these industries. It also looks great on your C.V. and may open up employment opportunities for you in the future.

Hospitality

Designed for students interested in Hospitality, Travel and Tourism

You will complete five unit standards totally 15 credits along with 4 days of work placement. You will get to experience different departments of the Hotel, giving you an overview of this rapidly expanding industry. If you are looking at a career in Travel or Hospitality, hotels offer the best training, and fantastic opportunities for travel and advancement. Completing this programme gives you an advantage when looking for work in any field in the future, and will allow you to enrol directly into our level 4 courses in Travel and Tourism, Small Business or Hospitality.

In this unit standard, you will undergo a thorough training to apply your knowledge to provide hospitality service and also to maximise sales for the organisation. This experience will be excellent for learning real-world selling skills.

BUSINESS

DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS INTERESTED IN BUSINESS OR MARKETING

You will complete 4 unit standards totally 11 credits at level 3 along with 4 days of work in an organisation we place you in. Completion of this course will allow you to enrol directly into our level 4 course in Small Business.
