NZ: Reimagined through the Lens

Secondary School Photography Competition

Crown Institute of Studies, an Auckland based tertiary institute that provides training in Tourism, HospitalityBusiness and Computing, is proud to partner with FUJIFILM NZ and Fuji Xerox along with other supporting organisations such as Go with Tourism and Britomart to launch the “NZ: Reimagined through the lens” photography competition.

1 winner, 2 runners-up and 7 honourable mentions will be selected from each category

  • 1 Winner from each category: FUJIFILM XT200 Camera
  • Winner of the “People” category: AJ Hackett experience in Auckland, Taupo or Queenstown* 
  • 2 Runners-up from each category: NZ$100 Prezzy card 
  • All winners, runners-up and honourable mentions: certificate and public exhibition at Britomart (from 9th to 22nd of November)
*Based on the region, the winner can choose from the following activities:
  • Auckland – Bungy, Bridge Climb, SkyWalk and SkyJump
  • Taupo – Bungy and Swing
  • Queenstown – Kawarau Bungy, Zipride, Nevis Catapult, Ledge Bungy, Ledge Swing.

All submissions must be under one of the following categories: 

• Land – Showcase NZ’s world-renowned beautiful landscape 

• People – Capture the Heroes of Tourism creating special experiences for tourists 

• Culture – Display Aotearoa’s origins and traditional values

  • Year 11 – 13 New Zealand Secondary School students 
  • You must be studying geography, tourism or hospitality
  • You are allowed to submit 3 entries, one per category
  • Your entry must fit into 1 of the 3 categories

Submission process

  1. Follow Crown Institute of Studies’, FUJIFILM NZ’s and Fuji Xerox’s Instagram accounts (@crowninstitute, 
    @fujifilmxseriesnz@fujixerox.nz)
     
  2. Upload your photo to your instagram account 

     

  3. Tag crowninstitute, fujifilmxseriesnz and fujixerox.nz on the photo

     

  4. Hashtag crowninstitute and your photo’s category (#crowninstitute and #land OR #people OR #culture)

     

  5. Add a caption (no more than 50 words) for your photograph

Submission Deadline and winner notification

  • Submit your photograph on or before 16th of October 2020 (Friday) 

  • All winning photographs will be selected by our panel, which consists of representatives from Crown Institute of Studies, Fuji Xerox, FUJIFILM NZ, Go with Tourism, Britomart and 2 independent individuals (photographer and film producer) 

  • Winners and the runner-ups will be notified via Instagram message on or before 23rd of October 2020 (Friday) 

  • Winners will need to provide us with their basic contact information (Name, email, phone, school…etc.)

Terms & Conditions

  • All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.

  • Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.

  • No parties will be responsible in any way for the publication of an entry that is subsequently found to be in breach of copyright. Any such entry will be immediately disqualified.

  • All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.

  • Copyright of all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. Winning and shortlisted images may be used by FUJIFILM, FUJI XEROX, Go with Tourism, Britomart and Crown Institute of Studies, and social media channels free of charge for publicity purposes in connection with this competition for a duration of no more than three years and will be credited if used.

  • FUJIFILM, FUJI XEROX, Go with Tourism, Britomart and Crown Institute of Studies reserve the right to retain entries on file for possible future use.  

  • All prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives. In the unlikely event that a prize should become unavailable, the parties involved reserve the right to substitute a prize of their choosing.

  • The Judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • By entering this competition, you agree to accept and be bound by these terms and conditions.
